Physics-based synthetic telemetry pipeline for oilfield predictive maintenance, fitted to 22K+ real North Dakota wells — now in Phase 3.
Kirsten Hefney — Software Engineer Edition. Available for full-time & new grad roles.
Conduct interdisciplinary research under faculty supervision: literature review, dataset development, and building/evaluating ML and deep learning models. Leading a cross-device VR/wearable system for biometric emotion detection, and a prompt-based multimodal privacy-detection pipeline using SAM 3.1 for segmentation.
Chancellor's List (Fall 2024, Spring 2026) and Dean's List (Spring 2024, Spring 2025, Fall 2025). Completed the Machine Learning Specialization on Coursera (DeepLearning.AI).
TA'd intro Python programming (Aug 2024 – Jan 2026) and mentor peers through ACM, helping plan and run CS-focused events. Also won 1st Place at the Capital One Black and Hispanic Tech Summit Hackathon (1 of 40 selected students) with Project Emotifin.
Outside of code: getting exercise, being outdoors, and cycling. Field log below.
